During that time it underwent a number of changes and improvements. Besides good, solid construction, one of the real strong points of the Tiara is a practical design approach. It has a large, uncluttered cockpit with sensibly designed seating modules and good all-around functionality. This is a boat for those who value practicality and ease of movement..The Tiara 2700 is a fast family fisherman that can also be thrifty on fuel. The 22 degree deep vee and the 10 foot beam make her a good performer in a sea way and a great platform for fishing or diving. The design was to make a versatile boat with a huge uncluttered cockpit and nice cruising amenities below.The boat has a number of design features that make it worthy of serious consideration for those who want to go offshore or overnight/weekend on the water.Down below, there's an enclosed head with toilet and vanity. There's also a small galley with sink and room for a stove. There is a fridge and lots of storage in the galley area.The forward vee berth has a dinette insert for daytime and converts to a berth for 2.A JVC Stereo/CD Player is aboard to provide entertainment.The real action is in the cockpit. There's an enclosed bridge area with console, 3 piece windshield and zip up eisenglass for a complete enclosure. The T-Top is expansive and covers a large part of the cockpit. The T-Top was custom designed and is ruggedly constructed. There is a Furuno Radar on top.There are 2 main seats, a Captain's chair and passenger seat. They are set on raised boxes which contain storage lockers and both are hinged to tilt back exposing the engines.The controls are all easy to reach and the captain has the Furuno Radar and Garmin GPS to keep informed.The rest of the cockpit is wide open and perfect for fishing or diving.There is a custom made swim/dive platform and ladder on the stern.The boat was re-powered in 2009 with completely new Marine Power 5.7 Vortec engines. Owner just installed new risers.
A survey done when the current owner bought the boat 14 months ago is available.
There are no observed cracks or crazing in the gelcoat.
The owner has the hull cleaned monthly and the oil has been changed every 6 months or so.
The interior is clean and there are no signs of leaks in the overhead or carpeted sidewalls.
The engines started up immediately and appear to run very smoothly. There are no engine room odors or drips to be seen. All is clean and shipshape.
What makes this Tiara stand apart is the value of the upgrades and extras. There's the Furuno Radar and a top of the line Garmin GPS.
The owner estimates that the engine re-power cost about $27,000. The engines are "crate motors" meaning that everything installed was brand new. There are no recycled parts. The re-power included new transmissions, exhaust system and stuffing boxes.
